Current Positions Available:

*Full time special education paraprofessional for the 2024-2025 school year. Applicants should have either an associates degree, 60 credits or be willing to take the ParaPro test to meet hiring requirements.

In this role the individual would assist students with special needs in classrooms and the community including:

  • working with students on basic skills,
  • social skills,
  • self-help skills,
  • learning strategies assignments,
  • implementing behavior plans.

*Part-time school nurse for the 2024 - 2025 school year.  Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the MN Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities:

The Building Nurse at Prairie Creek Community School is responsible for planning and implementing an effective school health program.  This is an hourly, part-time position.

The Building Nurse will:

  • Provide appropriate care to students with health needs
  • Refer students to health care provider for further care
  • Maintain Health Records
  • Complete required reports
  • Communicate health concerns with parents and staff
  • Immunization monitoring and reporting
  • Medication management
  • Write and oversee emergency care plans and individual health care plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions
  • Perform and oversee hearing and vision screening.
  • Monitor and report communicable diseases
  • Provide first aid and emergency care
  • Communicate with physicians as appropriate
  • Collaborate with Section 504 committee to develop necessary IHPs
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to other staff when the nurse is not in the building
  • Participate in some professional development meetings (details to be arranged with Director)
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director (i.e. Wellness Committee)

*Part-Time Media Specialist / Librarian for the 2024-2025. The Media Specialist/Librarian will manage a full library. Applicants must currently hold an appropriate MN Licensure and Library/Media experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include the overall educational and administrative operations of the library/media center, including but not limited to:

  • Providing resources through a systematically developed collection within the school
  • Assisting students in identifying, locating, and interpreting information housed in the library
  • Managing collection development and the acquisition of materials and resources
  • Collaborating with teachers
  • Managing purchasing receipts and records to monitor budget expenditures against the media center’s annual budget
  • Eliminating materials which are worn, outdated or no longer used
  • Other duties as assigned
