Christopher Coffey will be the brand sparkly new teacher At Prairie Creek, starting in 2016. Christopher’s life path has taken him from the sighing pines of Northern Minnesota to the muddy banks of the Mississippi and everywhere in between. After graduating from St. Olaf College with a degree in studio art Christopher tried out nearly every job under the sun. Like the prodigal son he returned to teaching in 2010 working for 5 years as an Educational Assistant in an Autism specific classroom in Minneapolis. After completing his teaching license at Augsburg College Christopher ventured out into the wide world armed with dreams and enthusiasm. He is tremendously excited to have found Prairie Creek and loves the child and nature centered teaching happening at the school. Outside of school Christopher enjoys drawing in his studio, running the river road, reading, writing, traveling and dreaming up thoughts too fantastically large for his little head. He has a lovely, understanding wife named Erin who keeps him grounded. Presently, Freya, his delightful lab-spaniel mix is the baby of the family; however, come January they are expecting twins who should turn his world completely and happily upside down.
